Why We Do CrossFit
In 2018, we made our CrossFit presence in the Salem/Keizer area. Roadside began in a barn next to a rural road: a literal Roadside CrossFit box. Our goal was to create a space for people who were looking for a unique, progress-driven, fulfilling, and fun training experience to serve the North Salem/Hayesville/Keizer communities. Five years later, that community continues, devoted to the same values.
Our CrossFit classes have always been built on the belief that your workouts should challenge your perceived limitations, compel you to push past them, and safely help you reach the goals you have set. We focus on sustainability: our trainers meet all members where they are, and help them to build strength and longevity through mechanics, consistency, and intensity.
We prioritize effectiveness and creativity above all things and strive to get you to love the process as much as the payoff. What is on the surface a simple combination of functional weightlifting and bodyweight strength training coupled with energizing conditioning work, when taken to a deeper level, becomes the bedrock on which strength, confidence, and resilience are built, both physically and mentally.

What is CrossFit?
Crossfit is constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity. Workouts are different every day, helping you find consistent results. They combine movements such as sprinting, rowing, jumping rope, flipping tires, weightlifting, carrying heavy objects, and many bodyweight exercises. We use barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, gymnastics rings, pull-up bars, medicine balls, and boxes. These elements are mixed in numerous combinations to form the prescribed “Workout of the Day” or “WOD.” The classes are designed so you can arrive, warm up, work out (WOD!), cool down, and be on your way within 60 minutes, all inclusive. Performance on each WOD is tracked to mark your progress and provide friendly competition.
Tired of the gym routine? Roadside CrossFit isn’t a gym at all. It’s not a place where you reluctantly go after work, plug in your head phones to avoid unwanted interaction and do the same old routine.
Roadside CrossFit is the place you can’t wait to go after work to unwind and release, where everyone knows your name and you feel a sense of belonging. New members are immediately welcomed into our CrossFit family.
We offer several classes throughout the day on weekdays as well as classes on Saturday. Open Gym times are also available. A coach will always be available to assist you. We also offer several other programs you can view, to help you achieve any goals you have!
